Broadway Karaoke Night in the Park in Westwood

The Westwood Recreation Department and Bergen County Players are teaming up for Broadway Karaoke Night in the Park on Saturday, September 5, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Veterans’ Park in Westwood. The free, family-friendly event will give musical theater fans of all ages a chance to take the microphone and perform their favorite Broadway songs. The evening will also include a special preview performance by the cast of Bergen County Players’ upcoming production of Mel Brooks’ The Producers. Singers of all experience levels are welcome. Everyone who participates in karaoke will also be entered into a raffle for tickets to an upcoming Bergen County Players production during the 2026-2027 season. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets and enjoy an evening of outdoor entertainment in the park. Sneak Peek at The Producers The evening will conclude with a preview of Bergen County Players’ season-opening production of Mel Brooks’ The Producers, which opens in September at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell. Based on Mel Brooks’ 1967 film, the musical follows a struggling Broadway producer and a timid accountant who devise a scheme to make money from a guaranteed theatrical flop. Their plan takes an unexpected turn when the show becomes a hit. The Producers won 12 Tony Awards and remains one of Broadway’s most celebrated musical comedies. BCP’s 2026 production comes during the 25th anniversary of the musical’s Broadway debut and a worldwide celebration marking Mel Brooks’ 100th birthday. Bergen County Players 2026-2027 Season Bergen County Players performs at The Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell, the organization’s home since 1949. As part of its continuing community support, Bergen County Players will donate a portion of proceeds from its 2026-2027 season to The Food Brigade of Paramus, which provides groceries and meals to local families experiencing food insecurity.
